Here in Boston and after 3 years of living in this beautiful city I do still see ugly people (not physically speaking) with pets letting their dogs pup on the sidewalk without the owner picking up their dogs shit. It is unbelievable to see human beings, with brain and common sense I assume, ignore a basic hygiene, and community norm of living in a society. A respectful and harmonious living society demands few rules between all of us, THAT IS ONE OF THEM.
If you have a dog as a lovely companion, that is fantastic, good for you, and enjoy the companionship, but that relationship means you, the owner (maybe my neighbor), have some responsibility not only to your dog, but everyone living around you regarding your beautiful companion. Dogs need to go out and walk, because they need to exercise, and they do have necessities to relief, like pee and pup.
Well, if you are an owner of a dog, YOU MUST TAKE A PLASTIC BAG TO PICK UP YOUR DOG SHIT, PERIOD. We don’t need to walk looking down to be sure I don’t step onto dog’s pup. NO. I have to say I don’t have dogs, because I don’t have the time to take care of them. I like dogs, I like animals, and I want to treat them right as well as I have the right to ask dog’s owner for some basic respect to all of us, and especially, ESPECIALLY, to the city where we live, Boston.
There are times I do shit, and I don’t want to clean my a** but I do it, because it is good for me, it is hygienic and respectful to others. I don’t want the people that do my laundry have to deal with SUPER dirty underwear. Well, I feel that way when I have to walk around my neighborhood (South Boston), and look down for dog pup everywhere. I feel I’m getting your shit right on my face. THAT IS WRONG.
From now on, I’m going to have my Blackberry ready to take a picture when I see those infamous dog owners. We do live in a community, which means we do share things. We are unique human beings, but at the same time, we have a lot of things in common to live with, to share with, and to be with.
I have many friends who have dogs. I take care of them many times when my friends go out of town. I also care about my city, my neighborhood, and neighbors.
