A way for me to adapt to the Boston area since I moved here 3 years ago from San Francisco has been the theater community. Not only I have been able to keep developing myself as an actor with opportunities to perform, but also working my craft, and being able to take classes that allows me to bring the best of me in each performance.
Within the theater community here in Boston the Stage Source organization has been a perfect channel for me to find work, classes, but also, to enjoy many great performances in the area. My annual membership is full of benefits, and in this economy sometimes you have to sacrifice going out to have a drink, or see a movie, simply, because you don’t have the money. But, Stage Source has provided us free tickets or great discount for some shows giving us –actors and actresses with little money—the opportunity to see great performers doing what we love: ACTING.
When I see a show, or even a movie I open my senses widely to have a good time, to entertain myself no matter what, but also, I see it as another chance to educate and train myself as an actor. To see many performers here in the New England area, and enjoy a great and quality work is priceless. It is a lesson to take home, get the best of it, and bring into your craft, the acting craft.
Many thanks to the Stage Source organization here in Boston.
