Is Mother Nature trying to get some “Botox” to the damage we are creating?
That’s the question, or at least my question.
Last Memorial Day weekend I went to the beach
One favorite to me,
Ogunquit in Maine, and really, it is a lovely town.
The beach, I am sure, is not the most beautiful in the world, but it got something.
Something likes its own personality.
But I wondered about something else, maybe silly.
We all need to use “facilities” when we need to pee, for example,
Well, there, at the beach, you walk half of mile to the restrooms,
Or jump in the water (that weekend it was very cold I couldn’t staying in the water to pee),
Or, you walk to the back area of the main shore, and, you pee there in the “bushes” or the dune.
I know, that is not the right thing to do, but what I noticed was how the whole area changed
Changed in the last 9 months
Since the last time I went there,
I felt I had to walk farther to the “allowed” area to pee,
But also, I noticed how the water keeps eroding the shore, and I don’t know if this is the right way to say or explain, but,
My first reaction when I got back was,
Is Mother Nature getting some “Botox”?
Is Mother Nature trying to fix the damages we are doing to this beautiful place, and I mean, the planet Earth.
The sun was the same, the water I believe was the same, the town was the same, even the people, but the beach was not the same. The difference I saw it, I noticed it, and I kept asking myself, am I destroying one of my favorite places? Are we destroying the favorite place of so many people?
Maybe Mother Nature is trying to inject itself some Botox, or having a plastic surgery, and survive, not the hundred of years that have passed by, but the actions of the human beings.
