To learn that eating too much of red meat (at least, ¼ of a pound on a daily basis) can increase the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases or cancer it should not be a surprise. I’m not an expert, but yes, a person who tries to be informed about things on a daily basis, and also, a man who loves red meat, and therefore not a vegetarian either, but understand the necessity to balance my life including my diet.
I do believe that the President Obama administration health care program is not going to do enough if we, as responsible citizen, don't make some decision about out health. Some basic decision about how to take care of ourselves, and eat better every day. I understand that with the economic situation we are living in, big fast food corporation (McDonald, KFC, Burger King) are doing very well, and for obvious reasons. If you don’t have enough money to eat, you go and get a SUPER whatever, with “fresh” lettuces and tomatoes for $ 1.99. Great deal, right? However, it is costing our health, and the possibility of enjoying our children, and grandchildren.
Let me put it this way, YOU are going to die, and not seeing your kid graduate from high school or college, because of heart failure, or cancer. I don’t think we can change habits overnight, but we MUST start right now, or we could be gone within a year. I’m not saying that we have to buy only “organic” food, but come on, even at big supermarket chains you can find great deal of fruits, vegetables, and other items good for your body.
It is, in my opinion, a way to take your heart and co. to a SPA on a daily basis, and provide good care through a good meal. We need to take, at least, baby steps and conquer a better life. A life that you deserve, simply because you are a beautiful human being.
By the way, I’m going to copy the link of the article written by Kathleen Doheny of WebMD Health News.

Finally, once again, I have to say that English is not my first language, therefore I do apologize for my mistakes writing this note.
