Netflix is going to rise up their monthly membership prices by 60% on September 1st, and when I found out about it, I really did my numbers and checked if it was worth it to stay with Netflix. I really enjoy the service, and quiet honest, I think I will stay with the company and the membership I have which is the plan one-DVD-at a time and the movies and shows online. It is an easy way to entertain ourselves.
Netflix made the announcement and everyone knows, or at least, I knew, and I can take the further actions I need to take. You know better, you do better (Dr. Maya Angelou)
Then, I go to get some coffee at Starbucks (I love Starbucks), and I also asked for the marble loaf pound cake they have, and after I paid for it, I checked my receipt and realized the delicious marble loaf pound cake is now $ 2.25 from $ 1.95 that it used to be.
Starbucks keeps re-defining the coffee experience.
I don’t know what bothers me more if the higher price I am paying for it, or simply the fact that Starbucks didn’t have the decency, or better, the courtesy, to tell me (us) about the new price. Not even on its website I couldn’t find any reference of it, and I only checked the news section within the site, however, they made announcements about the apps for our mobile devices and the opening of the new stores in Brussels and Oslo, as well as something about featuring Lady Gaga.
No news about their higher prices. Starbucks already charges higher prices for their coffee, although I only drink plain coffee. I don’t need any of their super fancy or “specially made” drinks. What I need is to be included, at least, in their announcements about higher prices. I am your customer, loyal customer. Don’t treat me like a anonymous thing, or someone without a voice.
Be courteous, be nice, be kind, and simply let me know when you are going to charge $ 5.00 for a small coffee (which I guess it could happen at any moment).
